Newcastle United suffered a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday afternoon to stay bottom of the Premier League table after 13 games. Jamaal Lascelles and Joe Willock were criticised by supporters for their poor performance, but they weren’t the only ones.
Emil Krafth also struggled for the Magpies and was given a player rating of 5/10 by Chronicle Live as a result. The 27-year-old, who hasn’t played a lot of football this season, was given a difficult afternoon by Emile Smith Rowe among others and fans on social media didn’t let him forget it.
Against Arsenal, Krafth played for 90 minutes, had 49 touches, completed 83.3% of his 36 passes, whipped in one cross, made one tackle, blocked three shots, had two interceptions, gave away one foul, made one clearance and won one freekick.
The Swedish international has made only seven appearances in all competitions, amassing 544 minutes of playing time. He spent the first few weeks of the season largely as an unused substitute but has been a regular of late. Krafth’s poor performance against Arsenal might give Howe a decision to make, however.
