Roy Keane had a rather trademark response to William Osula’s celebration in Newcastle United’s 3-1 home win over West Ham.

Osula put in an excellent performance against the Hammers. The Dane managed to score a brace in a clinical display, but it was his celebration after the first goal that caught the attention of Keane and the punditry team.

The 22-year-old was on hand with a sparkly Michael Jackson-inspired glove, which he donned in an eccentric dance next to the Leazes end corner flag in celebration of the game’s second goal.

What did Keane say about Osula celebration?

Speaking on Osula‘s celebration at half-time, Keane said, “Hey, it’s not a bad little move; don’t get me wrong. He can move the kid, but there’s a time and a place.

“He can do that in a nightclub tonight in Newcastle.”

Keane’s reaction came initially in condemnation of the Dane’s dance, specifically citing it as not being justified given the season Newcastle have had this season.

But the former Manchester United midfielder had the whole studio laughing with his deadpan expression whilst praising Osula’s moves.

The reason behind Osula’s dance

Osula’s dance was seemingly a reaction to the social media comments after he picked up his player of the month award midweek.

Many fans responded to the picture of the striker, claiming he looked like a young Michael Jackson after combing out his hair and going for an afro look.

Osula clearly did a quick Amazon Prime job to get the glove delivered in time for the game, with just a three-day turnaround ahead of the West Ham fixture.

The forward has made a bit of a habit of dancing celebrations in the past few weeks, but this one was by far his most extravagant, as shown by catching the attention of Keane in the Sky studio.

Osula’s goalscoring run continues

Osula has taken the striker position in Eddie Howe’s XI by the scruff of the neck in recent weeks.

The Dane has become almost undroppable and finds himself on an excellent goal-scoring run of five goals in his last six games.

There has been some speculation about Osula’s future, especially given the amount of money spent on the other two options last summer.

But it now appears a forgone conclusion that the 22-year-old will stay at the club this summer, provided an unrefusable offer doesn’t emerge from another club.
