Newcastle United News: Premier League Fixtures Released at 10am Today

Newcastle United supporters will discover the club’s full 2026/27 Premier League fixture list at 10am BST today. The Premier League will confirm the provisional dates for all 38 league matches this morning. We will have them right here on ReadNewcastle.com. The Premier League will be releasing the full schedule across the division on the website and app for the 2026/27 season.

When the fixtures come out, every fan starts counting down the days to the first day of the new season. It is the moment when the new season starts to feel real. Transfer rumours can dominate the summer, become tiresome at times too. But fixture release day gives supporters the first proper shape of the campaign: opening weekend, derby dates, Christmas plans, awkward away trips and the final-day landing point.

The Premier League confirmed that the 2026/27 Premier League season will begin across the weekend of Saturday, 22 August, with the campaign ending on Sunday, 30 May 2027.

Games to keep an eye out for

The first fixture will be the immediate headline. Having been at home for all but 3 opening day fixtures in the past 14 seasons. Surely it is time we start on an away day? But ofcourse another St James’ Park opener would give Eddie Howe’s side the chance to set the tone in front of their own supporters.

Last season began with a 0-0 draw away at Aston Villa, while the club’s last opening-day defeat came against West Ham United at St James’ Park in 2021.

The Tyne-Wear derby dates will also be circled quickly. Sunderland are back in the Premier League again, meaning Newcastle will face their rivals twice in the league next season.

Those fixtures will carry obvious local interest, but they may also become two of the most important dates in Newcastle’s season, especially after the intensity of last year’s meetings.

Christmas Football, promoted clubs and travel plans

Supporters will also be watching the festive schedule closely.

The Premier League has confirmed there will be no two match rounds within 60 hours over Christmas and New Year, a move designed to ease player workload during an already crowded calendar.

Newcastle will also discover when they face promoted sides Coventry City and Hull City.

Coventry’s return to the top flight means Newcastle could make their first league trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena since December 2009, when Shola Ameobi and Nile Ranger scored in a 2-0 win.

Hull’s promotion also adds a relatively short away trip for travelling Newcastle fans.

Fixtures can still change

As ever, the fixture list released today will be provisional.

Television selections, cup commitments and European scheduling can all move dates and kick-off times during the season. Still, the 10am release gives supporters the first proper map of what lies ahead.

For Newcastle, it will reveal the rhythm of a campaign that already promises plenty: derby tension, transfer-window uncertainty, and the latest attempt to push Eddie Howe’s side back up the Premier League table.
