“Where’s Saint-Maximin?” – Toon fans notice missing winger

Pictures released from today’s Newcastle United training session appear to not include summer signing Allan Saint-Maximin.

The gallery, tweeted by the club earlier today, shows the Newcastle squad training for Saturday’s clash with Norwich.

The French winger, who featured as a substitute in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, was being tipped by many to make a first start at Carrow Road this weekend.

A few Newcastle fans though will now fear this will not be the case after the wingers apparent absence from training.

Despite Saint-Maximin clearly not featuring in training today, I don’t think Newcastle fans need to panic, there’s a number of reasons that could explain his absence.

During his short cameo against Arsenal, the Frenchman showed flashes of why Mike Ashley decided to spend the money and Newcastle fans clearly have something to be excited about, he will definitely get bums off seats at St James’ Park this season.

I’m sure that manager Steve Bruce will give more information on the summer signings condition in tomorrow’s press conference.

Regardless of whether he starts on Saturday or not, Newcastle fans will be hoping to take three points back with them on the long journey home from Norwich.

matchday.
