Newcastle Player Ratings: Wolves (A)

A late Jacob Murphy free-kick earned a point for Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United side against Wolves as the two teams drew 1-1 for the fourth Premier League match in succession.

Murphy began the match in the rather unfamiliar role of right-wing back in a makeshift looking Magpies lineup as Bruce had to go without many of his regular starters.

After a quiet first half, it was the hosts Wolves who took the lead in a game of few clear cut chances with just 10 minutes left when Raul Jimenez broke the deadlock in style with a volley from the edge of the area.

However, with time running out Murphy managed to squeeze his set-piece between the inside of the near post and the goalkeeper to salvage a point from the trip to Molineux.

Next up for Newcastle is a home clash with table-topping Everton who earlier on Sunday tasted defeat for the first time in 2020/21.
