The Newcastle United mid-season awards

As Newcastle United head towards the midway point of the 2015/16 Premier League season, we decided it would be a great time to review the highs and lows of the Magpies’ erratic start to life under head coach Steve McClaren.

However, in spite of their lowly league position, Newcastle have managed to claim seven points from their last three fixtures, giving the Toon Army hope that their beloved side are finally beginning to turn the corner ahead of what is certain to be a decisive chapter of the season.

Although there have certainly been more moments of anguish than delight for Newcastle fans over the first half of the campaign, our Read Newcastle editors have decided to hand out their mid-season awards for the players and moments that have stood out in a typically turbulent season to date.
