Newcastle predicted XI: Cardiff City (A)

Newcastle United travel to Wales to face Cardiff City on Saturday looking to secure their first Premier League points of the season.

Rafael Benitez’s men narrowly lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur at St James’ Park on the opening weekend and will be keen to get up and running as soon as possible.

Jan Vertonghen gave Spurs an eighth-minute lead before Joselu restored parity for the hosts just eight minutes later.

However, Dele Alli’s 18th-minute goal proved to be the winner as the Magpies were unable to find another equaliser.

Cardiff also started the campaign with a defeat, going down 2-0 to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth on the south coast.

This weekend’s fixture throws up an interesting battle, as twin brothers Jacob and Josh Murphy could face each other for the first time.

Both wingers, the 23-year-olds came through the academy system at Norwich City before Jacob moved to Tyneside and Josh moved across the border to Cardiff.

Jacob was left out of Benitez’s squad for the Spurs match but will be hoping to feature at the Cardiff City Stadium.

With that in mind, here’s how we think the Magpies will line up on Saturday:

matchday.
