Newcastle send scouts to Porto game

Newcastle United and Norwich City were among the clubs who sent scouts to the Estádio do Dragão on Monday night for Porto’s league game against Nacional, Sport Witness reports..

According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, scouts of both clubs watched on as Porto ran out 3-1 winners over Nacional.

Scouts from Manchester United, Everton, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Villarreal, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Eintracht Frankfurt were all in attendance as well.

It is not known which player(s) were being watched by Norwich or Newcastle.

Newcastle frequently send scouts to Portugal, and in particular to Porto, so may have a specific target on their list, whereas for Norwich it is a much less regular occurrence to send scouts to Portugal.

Porto are currently six points clear from Braga in the league, with O Jogo selecting miidfielder Jesus Corona as man of the match from the game against Nacional.

Porto stars Maxi Pereira, Eder Militão, Yacine Brahimi, Hector Herrera and Tiquinho Soares were also highly praised by the media outlet.

For the away side, midfielder Aleksandar Palocevic was the only noticeable star from the game.
