These Newcastle fans react to Longstaff contract update

Newcastle midfielder Matty Longstaff is set to sign a new long-term contract extension with the club.

According to The Telegraph, via NUFC360, Matty Longstaff will put pen to paper on a new deal, but his brother Sean is yet to convince the club he deserves another extension.

It makes sense that the club are opting against giving Sean another new deal, having recently signed a long-term contract at St. James’ Park. He has been underwhelming this season, with Newcastle’s picking up form since his suspension and absence from the team.

Matty, meanwhile, has caught the eye since breaking into the first-team set-up and it is a great move by the club to tie down his long-term future to Newcastle. The youngster will hopefully now kick on and continue to provide excellent performances in midfield.
