Newcastle United fans respond to latest Premier League claims

Newcastle United fans have responded to a claim that the Premier League season will be cancelled.

With football at a standstill due to the ongoing pandemic, it remains to be seen when the Premier League season will return, and a recent report has claimed that the campaign could even be cancelled.

Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino made the claim earlier this week, telling reporters that a statement would be released soon by officials from England’s top flight.

The claim comes after all 20 clubs from the Premier League attended a conference call to decide the outcome of the current campaign

Marino, who works for the famous Pozzo family that owns Watford, has said that England are set to follow the Belgian league, who ended their season a couple of days ago.

Newcastle sit 13th in the Premier League table at present, having had an inconsistent campaign thus far.

Steve Bruce’s side will be hoping to improve on form if the season resumes, knowing that the threat of relegation is still lingering, sitting eight points ahead of 18th place Bournemouth.

Reacting to the claim made by Marino, Magpies fans gave their opinion on the matter.

matchday.
