- Bayern Munich are close to signing Anthony Gordon
- Bavarian giants also want Lewis Hall
- Englishman open to leaving Newcastle United
Anthony Gordon hasn’t featured for Newcastle United in recent weeks as speculation surrounding his future continue to dominate the back pages.
Bayern Munich are locked in talks to sign Gordon, but if reports from England are to be believed, they also want to snap up Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.
Both players have been named in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and could play important roles for the Three Lions.
And if the Magpies don’t play their cards right this summer, they could lose Hall and Gordon, with the latter already having one foot out of the door.
Bayern Munich want to sign Lewis Hall
Earlier this week, we reported on Read Newcastle that Manchester United want to sign Hall, with Director of Football Jason Wilcox a big fan of the player.
And now, TEAMtalk report that Bayern Munich are also in the race for the 21-year-old, who has quickly become one of the most sought-after left-backs in world football.
Sources close to the Bundesliga giants see Hall as a key transfer target to strengthen their full-back options, which they believe to be a weakness in their squad.
The report also mentions interest from Liverpool, who are set to lose Andy Robertson on a free transfer this summer.
Newcastle United should stand their squad
Wayne Rooney described Hall as a ‘brilliant’ player earlier this season as he continues to make a massive impression in the Premier League.
Since joining the club, the 21-year-old has made over 100 appearances and is also a boyhood Newcastle United fan.
Regardless of who comes calling and what the offer is, the Magpies must not entertain the idea of parting with Hall this summer.
He is the kind of player they need to build their project around and losing a young player of his quality would set a terrible precedent in terms of future outgoings.
Newcastle are already set to lose Gordon to Bayern, while Kieran Trippier’s departure has also been confirmed.
The likes of Sandro Tonali, Joe Willock and Jacob Murphy could also be on the move, so they already have a bit of work to do in the transfer market.
And losing Hall on top of the aforementioned players would leave Newcastle and Eddie Howe with a mountain to climb in terms of identifying suitable replacements.
