- Newcastle United could be offered swap deal by Bayern Munich
- Magpies have longstanding interest in £25m Juventus striker
- Anthony Gordon replacement linked
It’s set to be a long summer of transfer talk at Newcastle United with the rumour mill already pumping out a long list of reported targets for Eddie Howe’s side.
Before incomings, there are set to be departures, with Anthony Gordon already packing his bags for a move to the continent. Bayern Munich and Barcelona are locked in a transfer battle there.

Newcastle United dream transfer XI if rumours are true
Goalkeeper – Alexander Nubel
Defenders – Lewis Hall, Malick Thiaw, Viery, Tino Livramento
The goalkeeping position is set to be a key area for recruitment this summer. Aaron Ramsdale is set to return to Southampton without his option-to-buy being activated and an error-prone Nick Pope is admired by Leeds United.
Manchester City star James Trafford had been seen as a priority target but German outlet Bild believe that Bayern Munich could push through a deal for Anthony Gordon by offering goalkeeper Alexander Nubel as part of a swap.
In defence, the Magpies look keen to keep hold of full-backs Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento with Howe viewing them as part of the project on Tyneside for ‘years to come’. Malick Thiaw has been impressive since arriving from AC Milan last summer and, 21-year-old Gremio talent Viery is being looked at as the younger centre-back partner wanted by the club.
Midfielders – Bruno Guimaraes, Nick Woltemade, Joelinton
Wingers – Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Jarrod Bowen
Striker – Jonathan David
The future of Sandro Tonali at St James’ Park remains in doubt with Arsenal and Manchester United both linked. The Italian player’s agent has done little to dampen rumours of an exit in recent months.
It feels likely that Howe could persist with Nick Woltemade in midfield and there’s also the promising Lewis Miley, who will be wanting more game time following his new contract this week.
Anthony Gordon’s exit to either Barcelona or Bayern Munich feels inevitable and it could be hard to talk Harvey Barnes down from a move to Aston Villa if the Champions League side do indeed table a £38 million bid.
It’s hard to see Jarrod Bowen playing in the Championship next season after West Ham were relegated last weekend and the Magpies are frequently linked. The Mail claim that Belgium hotshot Matias Fernandez-Pardo is viewed as a potential replacement for Gordon – Newcastle have had recent success in buying from Lille, which is Guimaraes’ former club.
William Osula will feel he has a real shot of making the starting berth up front his own next season thanks to his red-hot form to end the 2025/26 campaign. However, TuttoJuve in Italy believe that Newcastle could reignite longstanding interest in Jonathan David, who is set to be allowed to leave for £25 million after a difficult first season.
