‘Not interested’ – these Newcastle fans aren’t happy following Bruce’s pre-Tottenham rally

Let’s be honest, Steve Bruce had a tricky task on his hands after being appointed as Rafael Benitez’s St James’ Park successor.

After an opening weekend defeat to Arsenal, many were left naturally disappointed. However, there were some bright sparks from the Magpies.

Many were left shocked by Bruce’s comments before the fixture against newly-promoted Norwich City last weekend, with the boss admitting they were hoping to ‘nick a result’ at Carrow Road.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Teemu Pukki’s hat-trick sealed a 3-1 win for Daniel Farke’s side and left many Newcastle fans raging at the result.

And talking exclusively to NUFC TV after the defeat, Bruce said:

Let’s not kid ourselves – we haven’t done enough. I saw some glaring mistakes and errors which we’ve got all week to put right.

These Newcastle fans weren’t too happy with the comments and took to social media to vent their frustration.

Bruce certainly isn’t winning many fans over during his short time in charge on Tyneside.

The 58-year-old now faces a vital six weeks in the dugout (if he is given that time) and will need to impress in the September home league games against both Watford and Brighton.

With away trips to Tottenham and Liverpool on the horizon, Bruce will need to get the Magpies up and running with two wins in front of a home crowd. However, failing to do so may well end his short time in charge of the club.

matchday.
