PSG and Juventus interested in Dubravka – should he stay at Newcastle?

PSG and Juventus reportedly hold “tentative” interest in Newcastle shot-stopper Martin Dubravka.

According to The Athletic, the two European giants are interested in Dubravka, but neither have made a firm offer for him.

The report also claims that Dubravka is likely to sign a new contract with Newcastle, which could end Juventus and PSG’s pursuit.

Should he stay in England?

Yes. Dubravka is Newcastle’s number one and playing every week in the Premier League. Although PSG and Juventus are massive clubs, is it worth going and sitting on the bench in what should be your best years?

Dubravka is only 30, which is still relatively young in goalkeeping terms, and can easily be Newcastle’s number one for years to come. It would be a waste of his talent to go and sit on the bench and possibly play a Champions League game every now and then whilst watching the likes of Keylor Navas and Wojciech Szczesny play ahead of him.

Instead, Dubravka could sign a new contract with Newcastle and try to help the club avoid relegation to the Championship. The shot-stopper impressed at the weekend, despite defeat, as he made a host of eye-catching stops against Chelsea to keep them at bay for the majority of the match.
