DeAndre Yedlin exit hits complication which could impact potential signings

Chronicle Live reporter Lee Ryder has revealed that DeAndre Yedlin‘s proposed move from Newcastle to Galatasaray has yet to be completed over confusion as to his take-home pay.

The Magpies have needed to shift some players from their squad to make room for potential signings. The American was one player who looked likely to be heading for the exit door and he has been holding talks with the Turkish club over a potential move before the transfer window closes tonight.

Newcastle are trying to secure the signing of Arsenal’s Joe Willock on loan, as well as being interested in a potential move for Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury. However, some exits are first needed to free up room in Steve Bruce’s squad for either of those signings to be completed.

It has been reported that Yedlin has had a medical with Galatasaray but that the move has been delayed. Ryder revealed that the delay is down to confusion over what his take-home pay will be from his potential contract with the Turkish club, although he did suggest that the situation could be solved and change quickly.

This is a complication which could be a worry for the Magpies, who need Yedlin’s move to go through so that they can get some signings over the line. However, this seems more like a delay to the transfer being done rather than a terminal obstacle to its completion.

That is what Newcastle will be hoping, as otherwise they will likely be left struggling to bring anyone in before the 11pm deadline. Hopefully, this is a situation which will get resolved swiftly.

matchday.
